*grins* I made actually exactly the same mistake earlier this week, when I met a SL-friend irl (he's British). Your language can be so terribly difficult sometime :P (but you should try Dutch, that seems to be even worse, lol)
Oh dear, I wouldn't even know where to start, I'm an appalling heathen with other languages, it's embarrassing! I can speak a little bit of French and Italian and German, but not enough to hold a decent conversation - it's on my to do list. For now, I am only a grammar stickler in English!
